Marshall S. Sprung, co-chief of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Asset Management Unit, is stepping down later this month.
Investment bank Oppenheimer & Co. is laying off seven equity research analysts and seven of its research support staff.
Securities lawyer Gary Emmanuel, who has advised U.S. and Israeli life science companies on public offerings and private placements, has left Sichenzia Ross Friedman Ference and joined McDermott Will & Emery. The move to McDermott’s Corporate Advisory Practice Group was announced Tuesday, Feb. 2. The firm said that Emmanuel’s skills and knowledge of sectors including life sciences and biotech make him an “excellent complement” to its healthcare deal team. McDermott also said that Emmanuel’s experience advising Israeli companies could help bring deal flow to the firm.
Geoffrey Porges, formerly with Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., has joined Leerink Partners as senior biotech analyst.
