$45M PIPE from Fibrocell Science

Fibrocell Science (FCSC) announced that it has raised $45 million in a Common Stock transaction. The common stock was sold at $0.10 per share, an approximate 57% discount to the market price ($0.23) of FCSC at deal announcement. Barclays Capital, MTS Health Partners and John Carris Investments acted as agents on the transaction. Third Security participated in this offering. The transaction is expected to close by Oct. 11, 2012.

AtheroNova Raises $2.5M in Unit Deal

AtheroNova (AHRO) announced that it has raised $2.5 million in a Unit (Common Stock and Warrants) transaction. The common stock was sold at $0.50 per share, an approximate 36% discount to the market price ($0.78) of AHRO at deal announcement. A series of 2,500,000 48-Month Warrants with an exercise price of $0.625 per share (19.73% discount) was issued to the investors in this transaction. Philadelphia Brokerage Corporation acted as the exclusive agent on the transaction. Issuer counsel was Stubbs, Alderton, & Markiles.

Coronado Biosciences in $30M ATM

Coronado Biosciences (CNDO) announced that it has secured up to $30 million in an ATM (At the Market) transaction with MLV & Co. The purchase price is the prevailing market price at the time of the Draw Down Notice. Placement Agent counsel was LeClairRyan, and issuer counsel was Loeb & Loeb. NeptuneTechnologies Raises $34M Amid Patent Fracas

A group of five agents placed a CMPO overnight offering from Neptune Technologies & Bioressources (NEPT) as it rebutted allegations that a patent it recently obtained is flawed. The deal, which was announced last month, closed on Oct. 2. Neptune has raised a total of $52.4 million in offerings comprising CMPO, stock and convertible debt transactions according to PlacementTracker. Prior to the recent CMPO, Perceptive Advisors invested about $6.1 million in a common stock offering in May of 2011.
