Highland Capital Promotes Warby Parker’s Hunt

Highland Capital Partners has named Andy Hunt as partner. In a move that strengthens the investment effort in New York, Hunt will continue to focus on sourcing and leading new investments in consumer technology and ecommerce as he works with the exceptional entrepreneurs building the next generation of innovative and market leading companies. In addition to his role at Highland, Hunt is a co-founder and director at Warby Parker Eyewear. Hunt joined Highland in 2011, where he has focused on consumer internet opportunities in New York. Prior to founding Warby Parker, Hunt worked in healthcare IT venture capital at SV Life Sciences and as an investment banker at Cain Brothers in New York.

NexBank Securities Hires FBR’s Campbell as President

NexBank Securities announced Craig L. Campbell as president of NexBank Securities and senior managing director of NexBank Capital Advisors. Based in Dallas, Campbell will lead the firm’s broker dealer, investment banking and business advisory operations. Campbell has over 20 years of investment banking experience. He previously served for over a decade as a managing director in the Investment Banking Group at FBR Capital Markets, focusing on financial services and advising on capital raising and mergers and acquisitions nationally. Earlier, he served as a senior associate covering the Consumer and Gaming industries at CIBC World Markets, and Associate covering the Technology, Media and Telecom industries at Wedbush Morgan Securities.

D.A. Davidson Opens ECM Office in New York, Hires Shepard and Luther

D.A. Davidson & Co. has opened an equity capital markets office in New York City, and named Steve Shepard managing director. Shepard has extensive experience in the securities industry, most recently with Wells Fargo. Joining Shepard in New York will be Lou Luther, associate vice president of institutional sales. Luther has been working alongside Shepherd for the past five years, also with Wells Fargo.

Merriman Capital Hires Hires Lewis from SAC

Merriman Capital has hired Marc Lewis as chief technology strategist and managing director. Lewis will be based in the firm’s headquarters in San Francisco. He will focus on growing and integrating the firm’s technology practice, as well as provide insight into developing trends affecting both private and venture backed companies in addition to existing public companies. Prior to joining Merriman Capital, Inc, Lewis was a TMT Portfolio Manager at SAC Capital.
