Canaccord Genuity Hires Williams to Head up Maritime Banking

Canaccord Genuity hired Henry P. Williams as managing director, head of Maritime, Energy Services & Infrastructure. Williams will work from the firm’s U.S. headquarters in New York City and will focus on a broad range of assignments, including public offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions advisory work. He will be responsible for Canaccord Genuity’s banking efforts focused on the maritime shipping/offshore, energy services and energy infrastructure sectors. Williams recently served as managing director, global sector head-shipping, Corporate Finance at Nordea Markets and previously as managing director and head of U.S. Investment Banking. Prior to Nordea, he served as managing director – head of Energy & Transportation Investment Banking at Oppenheimer & Co.

Global Hunter Hires Shlisky and Isherwood

Global Hunter Securities announced Michael Shlisky, CFA, as director and senior industrials analyst in research. Shlisky joins GHS from a bulge bracket Institutional Investor-ranked industrials research team. His focus includes machinery and related sectors such as engineering and construction, and agricultural processing. Shlisky was most recently at JP Morgan and was previously at RBC Capital Markets and Oppenheimer. Global Hunter also hired Scott Isherwood as managing director and head of industrials investment banking.

In a move that strengthens the investment effort in New York, Hunt will continue to focus on sourcing and leading new investments in consumer technology and ecommerce as he works with the exceptional entrepreneurs building the next generation of innovative and market leading companies. In addition to his role at Highland, Hunt is a co-founder and director at Warby Parker Eyewear. Hunt joined Highland in 2011, where he has focused on consumer internet opportunities in New York. Prior to founding Warby Parker, Hunt worked in healthcare IT venture capital at SV Life Sciences and as an investment banker at Cain Brothers in New York.
